This was a fun project to work on with Silver Tree Publishing for Joe and Frank DeSensi for their newest book - Turning Around Turnaround Schools - Embracing the Rhythm of the Learner year. The authors wanted a cover that had elements from my last design for them, since this book was part of a series. So you can see, there are several elements that I reused from the previous design.
This design shows the different stages or "periods" of the learner year as explained in the book. Each period is represented by a different color inside the gear, and the waves behind the image represent the thought processes of students as they gain knowledge and understanding through the school year.
